2026 PDC Premier League Winner Pick

Winner Pick: Luke Littler

The 2026 Premier League will feature a mix of stars from last year's edition and a few newcomers, which may make it somewhat difficult to pick a winner at this early stage. However, the favorite is rightly the sensational Luke Littler!

Littler dominated 2025, winning the World Darts Championship at the start of the year and defending his Ally Pally title last month. In the first half of the year, he won titles at the UK Open, the World Matchplay, and several World Series events, including the Australian and New Zealand Darts Masters.

From September onwards, “The Nuke” won the World Grand Prix, successfully defended the Grand Slam of Darts, and moved into the Ally Pally after winning the Players Championship Finals. However, the only major title he missed out on in 2025 was the Premier League.

Luke Humphries defeated Littler 11-8 in a thrilling final at the O2 Arena to claim his first Premier League title. Over the past 12 months, he has also won the World Masters, the US Darts Masters, and the Czech Darts Open, and many see him as the biggest threat to Nuke in this year's Premier League.

The Welsh duo of Gerwyn Price and the returning Jonny Clayton are also not to be underestimated, while seven-time Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen is hoping to regain the title after a rather disappointing 2025 season.

Betting Beginners: How does the PDC Premier League work?

The 2026 Premier League Darts season will follow the same format as last year: a fast-paced, weekly league in which participants compete against each other before the climax, Playoffs Night at London's O2 Arena.

The tournament features eight of the PDC's top players, selected by the PDC based on world rankings, recent performances at major events, and their overall profile within the sport. Luke Humphries is the reigning champion, having defeated Luke Littler 11-8 in last year's final.

For 16 weeks, the players will compete in a knockout format every Thursday in different cities across the UK and Europe. Each evening will begin with the quarterfinals, and the matches will be played over 11 legs (first to win six legs) with no draws.

Five of last year's participants are back for the 2026 edition, while the remaining three places will be filled by the return of 2021 champion Jonny Clayton and the debuts of Josh Rock from Northern Ireland and Dutch rising star Gian van Veen.

Points system:

Players collect points based on their standings each night:

  • Winner: 5 points
  • Runner-up: 3 points
  • Semifinalists: 2 points
  • Quarterfinal losers: 0 points

All points are collected over a period of 16 weeks in a single ranking, with the top four players at the end of the league phase qualifying for the playoffs. In the playoffs, the first-place finisher faces the fourth-place finisher in the semifinals and the second-place finisher faces the third-place finisher, with the best of 19 legs being played. In the final, the best of 21 legs is played to determine the 2026 Premier League Darts champion!

Our Premier League Darts Betting Tips

Darts Picks

As with any sport, betting on the PDC Premier League requires analyzing data and understanding various external factors that can influence the outcome of matches. Below are five tips that can help you improve your betting results in this year's Premier League:

  • Analyze head-to-head statistics
  • Assess current form and momentum
  • Consider home crowd support
  • Avoid playing favorites

By incorporating these tips into your betting strategy, you should be able to make more informed decisions and place more successful bets throughout the 2026 Premier League season.

Analyze head-to-head statistics

Premier League Darts: Analyze H2H

Since the same eight players will be competing against each other throughout the 16 weeks of the league phase, be sure to watch the head-to-head matches between these players to identify important trends. As in other sports, there are several rivalries in darts where players often improve their game against certain opponents.

Assess current form and momentum

Form, momentum, and rhythm are important factors to consider in major darts tournaments such as the Premier League. Thanks to the rising popularity of the sport, there are numerous recent tournaments to look back on to assess a player's current form, such as the 2026 World Championship, the 2026 Bahrain Darts Masters, and the 2026 Saudi Arabia Masters.

Consider home crowd support

Premier League Darts Tips: Josh Rock

As the Premier League is held in multiple locations across the UK and Europe, players have the opportunity to perform in front of their home fans at various stages of the tournament. This can have a huge impact on their performance on a given night, particularly for players such as Price, Van Veen, and Rock when the tournament is held in Wales, Rotterdam, and Ireland, respectively.

Avoid playing favorites

If you plan to bet on the 2026 Premier League, you probably have at least one favorite for the tournament, but don't let your personal preference influence your decision. Last year was a prime example of this, when Littler went into the playoffs as the hot favorite after a record-breaking season, but lost the final to Humphries 11-8.
