Tommy Paul of the United States kicks off his grass-court campaign against Daniel Evans of Great Britain in the second round of the 2025 Eastbourne International.

Paul will be playing his first match since losing to Carlos Alcaraz 0-6, 1-6, 4-6 in the quarterfinal of the 2025 French Open. Paul had battled lower abdomen injury throughout his Roland Garros run but still managed to rack up four wins, including a couple of five-setters, to reach the final eight of the Grand Slam. Paul hopes he can match or better improve on his 10-2 run on grass last year, which saw him winning the title at Queen’s Club and reaching the quarterfinal at Wimbledon.

Evans, who already secured a wildcard spot in this year’s Wimbledon Open, looks to barge into the quarterfinal of a grass-court event after coming up short at Libema and Queen’s Club tournaments. Ranked No.170 in the world, Evans holds a 98-70 record on grass and has been in the third round of Wimbledon Open three times. He reached the second round at Eastbourne with a 3-6 6-4 6-4 win over Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia.
