The Connecticut Huskies and UCLA Bruins will meet in the Final Four Friday night to battle for the right to move on to the national championship game against the winner of Texas-South Carolina. Fans can follow the action when the game gets underway at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN+.
Connecticut has an incredibly talented team, but they will go as far as their superstar, Paige Bueckers, can carry them. She didn’t have the kind of season that could earn her a second Wooden Award, but she does have the Huskies poised to return to the national championship game and appears to be peaking at the right time. She averaged right around 20 points per game this season but scored 34, 40, and 32 in the second round, Sweet 16, and Elite Eight. The Final Four is new territory to UCLA; this season marks the first time the women’s program has advanced this far in the Tournament. They had previously made it as far as the Elite Eight on two occasions (1999 and 2013). But a deep, talented roster wants to continue to make history and win a national championship for the first time in school history.

This is a tough one. DO you go with the hot hand and take Paige Bueckers and the Huskies or roll with Lauren Betts and the Bruins? Neither team has ever really been in danger of losing a Tournament game. UConn has arguably been the more explosive of the two. Lauren Betts and Paige Bueckers are both capable of taking over a game. Like I said, this one’s tough. As tough as both teams look, I think it is fair to say this will be a great game and will likely go down to the wire, which means neither team will win by more than 8.5 points.
