The mismatches continue for the No. 1 women’s basketball team in the country, the Connecticut Huskies (23-0, 12-0 Big East), who are set to play the DePaul Blue Demons (5-19, 2-11 Big East). Fans can follow the action on truTV once the game gets underway at 8 p.m. EST.
This certainly appears to be one of those games that is simply not fair. UConn is the best team in the country, among the best in almost every statistical category. The only things they don’t appear to do well are make free throws (297th in the country and they don’t really try many either (327th in the country). As for DePaul, the story is a little bit different. The Blue Devils are a low-scoring team (63.2 points per game) and struggle to defend (72.3 points per game allowed). The few things they don’t rank amongst the worst in the country at, UConn just does better.
UConn has yet to lose a game this season. DePaul lost its last time out, going down 69-56 to Villanova. But it hasn’t been that long since they’ve won a game; they beat Creighton at home 76-61 last Wednesday (January 28). However, they have lost five of their last six games.

This is a tough one. We know UConn is going to win. Sportsbooks aren’t even offering a moneyline. But a 54.5-point spread is huge. So, can we trust the Huskies to play this one out and blow DePaul out of the water? Probably. When these two teams played earlier in the season, UConn won 102-35. If you want to go that route, you’ll probably be fine, but I think the better bet for this game is the TOTAL.
