The surging Columbus Blue Jackets will restart their season on Thursday by visiting the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.
Before the Olympic break, Columbus was the hottest team in the NHL. Rick Bowness saw his side win seven games in a row and post back-to-back shutouts just before the break. The Blue Jackets’ hot form now faces a major test with a tough road game on the schedule.
Boston also enjoyed a good stretch before the Olympics and will be eager to maintain it, with the race for a playoff berth in the Atlantic Division very tight. David Pastrnak and his crew have gone 11-2-3 since the calendar was flipped.
TD Garden has been a real fortress for the Bruins, as they are tied for the most home wins in the league with 21. Marco Strum’s team is on a 10-game point streak at home, winning nine of the games.
The Blue Jackets have also struggled in Boston, losing five of their last six visits. A positive result this time around would give the team further belief that it can make it back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020.
