The last Round-of-32 fixture to take place at the 2026 World Cup sees Colombia and Ghana go up against each other in Kansas City.
Despite being thrown into a group with 2016 European champions Portugal, the Colombians impressed, coming out on top, earning themselves the right to begin the knockouts with a game against one of the third-place finishers. After some hugely encouraging group-stage efforts, Los Cafeteros should be feeling confident. The Ghanaians may also be feeling confident having defied expectations by reaching the knockouts.
From a betting point of view, taking the Colombians to win is hard to resist, but to get the most value for money, we should combine the Colombian win with ‘Under 3.5 Goals’.

Colombia - Ghana: Form Analysis
While some teams have wowed us at this World Cup, like France, the Colombians have quietly gone about their business, picking up seven points, winning a group that contained Portugal. Nestor Lorenzo’s men are well organized, they’re solid both in and out of possession, while they have the flair players to create chances and score goals. What we’ve seen from them at this tournament so far tells us that they can pass this test without much of a fuss.

Can the Ghanaians score goals? That’s the big question. We’ve seen Carlos Quieroz’s men dig deep and get men behind the ball, and they’ve done it well, preventing the English from scoring, conceding only two goals in three group games. The problem is, though, they look toothless at the other end, so when push comes to shove against a Colombian team that isn’t short of offensive quality, they may struggle.

Colombia & Ghana Squad Analysis
There was absolutely nothing wrong with Colombia’s effort against Portugal, with the South Americans dominating for most of the contest, and off the back of that effort, Nestor Lorenzo is not expected to make too many changes. Daniel Munoz was rested for that game, but will almost certainly slot back into the starting XI here, though that could be the only change from the last game.

Ghana’s best effort, despite not scoring, came against England, so we can expect Carlos Queiroz to set his men up in the same fashion in Kansas City. Ernest Nuamah and Derrick Luckassen both came on to good effect last time out, combining for Ghana’s goal against Croatia, though neither player offers much in a defensive sense. Expect both to feature as impact subs rather than starters.

Our Colombia vs Ghana Prediction
We all saw how the Ghanaians sat deep and made life difficult for the English during the second round of group games, and off the back of that, they delivered a decent effort against Croatia. Interestingly, none of Ghana’s games at this World Cup have contained more than three goals, and although it’s plainly obvious that they lack the forward intensity to make any serious headway, they look a decent bet to, at the very least, avoid a battering.
Our Colombia vs Ghana Pick: Colombia to Win & Under 3.5 Goals.
Colombia vs Ghana - Other Interesting Picks
Colombia to Win
If you’re primarily interested in keeping it simple and care not for value, then the Colombian win will be hard to resist. After all, the South Americans are better equipped to get the ball in the net, while they’re also good at grinding out wins, which is not something that this Ghanaian has shown us it can do.
