Italian Flavio Cobolli of Team Europe will battle Brazilian teen star Joao Fonseca of Team World in the third men’s singles match on Day 1 of the 2025 Laver Cup on Friday.

The 19-year-old Fonseca is coming off an eventful Davis Cup campaign with team Brazil last weekend after winning his two singles assignments against Greek opponents. Fonseca swept Stefanos Sakellaridis 7-5, 6-3 before hacking out a three-set win over former world No.10 Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Fonseca has amassed 22 wins out of 28 hard-court matches while parading a 33-15 overall record on the 2025 ATP Tour season.
