The 3rd and final game of the series between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians will take place this afternoon in Minnesota.
Cleveland went 6 innings without scoring a run in game one. Taj Bradley was nearly unhittable for the Twins and exited after the 6th inning after allowing just 1 run. However, reliever AJ Minter allowed the game to be tied at 2 in the 7th. Unfortunately for the Twins, Yoendrys Gomez did not have his best stuff and allowed 3 runs and 2 walks in the 9th and took the loss. Cade Smith had more success in the 9th for the Guardians and picked up his 36th save of the season.
The Twins were able to turn the tables in game two. They used a 4-run 3rd inning to take an early 4-1 lead that they were able to ultimately hold onto. The Twins bullpen combined to pitch 3.2 innings of no-hit work and struck out 8 of those 11 batters.
Today, Tanner Bibee will start for the Guardians and is looking to have a better outing than he has had in his last two starts. The same can be said for Joe Ryan of the Twins, who will also be starting. Both pitchers have not had strong outings in their last two.

Tanner Bibee has gone back-to-back starts, allowing 5 runs in each, and has a 4.72 ERA this year. Joe Ryan has been a bit better but still allowed 18 runs over his last 4 starts. Both pitchers seem to be hitting a wall this season, and that should be a good sign for the over in this matchup. We like each starter to do their part by allowing some early runs to help get this total over the number.
