The New York Jets will try to make it two in a row this week when they host the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
A week after getting their second win of the season (31-6 vs. the Dolphins), the Browns were back to their losing ways, falling to the surging New England Patriots, 32-13. Cleveland QB Dillon Gabriel threw his first two interceptions in that game but also had two touchdown passes. Gabriel could be in for a break with the Jets trading away defensive back Sauce Gardner and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams. Much like it has the whole season, the Browns' defense will take the lead for Cleveland. Luckily, it will face one of the NFL’s worst offenses in the New York Jets. New York is averaging 21 points per game, but the Browns are averaging just 15.8 points per game. The Jets are coming off their first win of the season, a miracle come-from-behind effort that saw them score 23 points in the fourth quarter to win by one, 39-38 over the Bengals.

It has been a challenging year for both teams, and this trend is unlikely to improve until the year is over. But someone has to win this dreadful game. I have a little more faith in the Jets possibly doing it after watching them blow up for 23 in the fourth quarter vs. the Bengals. However, while I would take the Jets' money line if I were picking a winner, I don’t see either of these dreadful offenses scoring many points in this game.
