Cincinnati took an early 2-1 lead yesterday with a pair of runs in the top of the second, but it was short-lived as the Diamondbacks tacked on three in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-2 for the home team. But the Reds were able to tie the game up at 4-4 with a run in the eighth, ultimately sending the game to extra innings, where Arizona won 6-5 in the 11th. Andrew Abbott is scheduled to start for the Reds. Abbott is 8-3 in 22 starts with a 2.28 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and .218 OBA. He has gone 4-1 in nine road starts with a 2.67 ERA and .207 OBA. In his last road start, Abbott pitched 6 2/3 innings vs. the Cubs in Chicago, giving up seven hits (two home runs) and four earned runs in a loss. As for the Diamondbacks, Nabil Crismatt is scheduled to start. A career reliever, Crismatt has started one game this season (second of his career). He pitched a solid five innings (three hits, one earned run, one walk, five strikeouts) vs. the Rockies in Colorado.
