Christopher Eubanks of the United States will kick off his Open Occitanie campaign on Tuesday against Alibek Kachmazov of Russia. Eubanks seeks to capture a win after dropping his last two assignments. The American failed to qualify for the main draw of the 2025 Australian Open after losing to compatriot Tristan Boyer 6-4 6-4 in the final qualification match. He also participated in the Oeiras Challenger but lost to Yasuka Uchiyama of Japan 7-6(6) 6-4 in the first round. Kachmazov also failed to reach the main draw of the Australian Open after bombing out in the second round of the qualifier against Basilashvili of Georgia 7-5 6-4. Kachmazov also lost to Aleksandar Kovacevic 7-5 6-2 in the first round of the Quimper Challenger. The Russian regained his groove as he recorded wins over Alejandro Moro Canas 6-3 4-0 ret. and Hugo Greiner 6-7(4) 6-2 6-1 to qualify for the Occitanie Open main draw.
