The Milwaukee Brewers will try to get their winning ways going as they go for a sweep against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday at American Family Field.

The Brewers have reclaimed the top spot in the National League Central after trouncing the Cubs for the second time in the series. After routing Chicago 8-4 in the series opener, Milwaukee leaned on their starting Quinn Priester to neutralize the Cubs offense while their big bats powered the Brewers to a 5-1 lead after five innings. Andrew Vaughn then delivered the coup de grace with a grand slam in the 6th inning. The 64-43 Brewers now enjoys a two-game lead on the 62-45 Cubs as the race for outright postseason berth starts to heat.

A 3-6 record in their last 9 games has caused the Cubs’ the No.1 spot in their division. But the real culprit to their recent fall is their dreadful pitching recently. Over the last five games, Chicago has given up a 6.43 ERA and 2.2 home runs per game. Chicago is averaging a decent 4.4 runs per game, but they won’t be winning a lot of games if they continue to allow opponents to score almost seven runs a game.
