The NHL regular season is about to officially start after the NHL Global Series disputed by New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres in Prague. In this regard, one of the most attractive games to be disputed next Tuesday, October 08th corresponds to the clash between Utah Hockey Club and Chicago Blackhawks, which will start at 08:00 pm Central Time.
In this regard, it must be noted that Utah will make its debut in the NHL after Arizona Coyotes’ disappearance, but they keep the same player base from the Coyotes. The good news for them is that Clayton Keller and Matias Meccelli are still part of the team, as they were 2 of the most important players in Arizona’s squad during the last season.
However, Utah only hired 2 offensive players apart from the Coyotes’ base, but there aren’t any big expectations as Kevin Stenlund and Kailer Yamamoto weren’t productive enough during the last season on Florida Panthers and Seattle Kraken, respectively. In addition, the joining of Mikhail Sergachev from Tampa Bay Lightning is expected to increase their offensive production as he assisted 17 times during his 34 played games last season.
Meanwhile, Chicago Blackhawks had an awful performance during the last season that left them at the bottom of the Central Division with only 59 points. Nonetheless, they had a reason to smile as they had the best rookie of the season, Connor Bedard, who was the point leader with 61 scored throughout the season. Along with him, Phillip Kurashev also was one of the best players of the team with 18 goals and 36 assists.
When looking at the new hires of Chicago, they definitely are trying to be more competitive, a fact that can be ratified with the joining of Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen. These players were able to score more than 20 goals and assists during the last season, so Chicago isn’t expected to remain at the bottom of the Central Division this season.
