Week Two of the NFL season features a crunch NFC North matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. Both sides suffered painful divisional defeats in Week One, as the Lions were comprehensively outplayed by the Packers at Lambeau Field, whilst the Bears threw away an 11 point fourth quarter lead against the Vikings.
Despite those defeats, both teams will still fancy their chance of mounting strong playoff bids this season. The Lions lost influential offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, plus several key players, during the offseason. However, they still possess plenty of elite level talent, including the likes of Aidan Hutchinson, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs. Meanwhile, the Bears will be hoping for a big leap forward from QB Caleb Williams. The number one draft pick was inconsistent during his rookie campaign, but Chicago have significantly strengthened their offensive line and receiving corps over the Summer, so Williams now has a much better shot at proving he can finally solve the Bears' longstanding problems at QB.

For three quarters of Monday night's game against the Vikings, the Bears looked on course for a big win, but an all too familiar fourth quarter collapse followed, leaving fans already fearing yet another season of failure at Soldier Field. Of course, the Lions were also hugely disappointing in Week One, but backed by a partisan home crowd, we expect them to bounce back this week. The Bears are not entirely devoid of talent, so it won't be a walkover for Detroit, but we are tipping the home side to pull away late on to secure a two-score victory.
