There's another round of midweek Major League Soccer games heading our way. On Wednesday evening, venues across the nation will welcome fans, including Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina, where Charlotte take on DC United. For Dean Smith's men, it's all about building on what was a very sturdy win against the NYCFC boys last time out. Prior to that win, the hosts had stopped the rot by tying against Orlando, a result that followed three straight defeats. Win here and they'll put some daylight between themselves and those currently outside of the all-important postseason places.
For the visitors, the postseason seems a long way off, and not just because we're only in July. The men from Audi Field find themselves struggling for the second season on the spin, with only two teams currently below them in the Eastern Conference standings. They'll go into this game off the back of losing in Los Angeles at the weekend, while they've now failed to win each of their last six games, five of which they've lost.
