This is a highly anticipated matchup in the Champions League playoffs. Celtic FC and LASK Linz will face off for a spot in the Champions League group stage. The first leg will take place this Wednesday at Celtic Park. After clinching the Premiership title in a nail-biter last season, the Scottish club has gotten off to a strong start in its domestic league, winning its first two matches. The team coached by Martin O’Neill also made a strong debut in the League Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory on the road against Dundee United. Now, they aim to do the same on the European stage.

LASK Linz, however, will be a team to take very seriously. The reigning Austrian Bundesliga champion has been racking up lopsided victories since the start of the season. In addition to a very comfortable win in its OFB Cup debut against Kalsdorf (0–7), the team has managed to win its first three league matches by a margin of at least two goals. Dietmar Kuhbauer’s men, however, have yet to face a team of Celtic FC’s caliber. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see their winning streak come to an end on their trip to Scotland.
