Caroline Dolehide of the United States will take on Rebecca Sramkova of Slovakia in the opening round of the 2025 Cincinnati Open on Friday.
Dolehide targets a better campaign at the Cincinnati Open following a first-round exit at the hands of Anna Blinkova in Montreal, 4-6. 1-6. Dolehide, 8-6 in hard-court matches this year, had picked up three wins to reach the second round of the Mubadala Citi Open three weeks ago. Sramkova will also attempt to get into the winner’s circle after dropping her last two matches, including a 2-6, 2-6 loss to Caty McNally in the second round of the 2025 Canadian Open. The 36th-ranked Slovakian is only 7-11 on the hard court in 2025, carrying a career 54.5 percent win rate on the surface.
