The Philadelphia Eagles will attempt to win their ninth consecutive game when they host the Carolina Panthers at Lincoln Financial Field this week. Kickoff for this NFC matchup is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. As could be, Philadelphia is a heavy favorite to win (-12.5 via BetMGM).
This matchup screams ‘trap game’ for the Eagles. Everything is clicking for them right now. Saquon Barkley is playing at an MVP level, and a case could probably be made to say the same for Jalen Hurts. The defense is one of the best overall units in the league. There is no reason why they should lose his game to a 3-9 Panthers team.
But games like this are the kind where an improving Carolina team can catch the Eagles by surprise since Philadelphia will already be mentally moving on to a much tougher matchup in Week 15 (vs. the Steelers). However, even if the Panthers do catch the Eagles napping, Bryce Young will need to continue building off his recent progress, Chubba Hubbard must have a solid day, and the defense must slow down Saquon Barkley.
Anything is possible, especially if the Eagles don’t bring their ‘A’ game and the Panthers do.
