The 2026 Stanley Cup Finals continue on Tuesday night, with the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes clashing in Game 4 at T-Mobile Arena.
The bar has been set sky-high for Tuesday after an incredible Game 3. On Saturday night, we saw Mitch Marner score the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Finals history, and Carolina nearly became the first team ever to win from a four-goal deficit in the Finals.
A lucky bounce in double overtime gave Vegas a 2-1 lead, and John Tortorella’s side has a great opportunity to put the Hurricanes under severe pressure with another win. However, beating Carolina in back-to-back games has been nearly impossible in 2026.
This calendar year, Rod Brind’Amour’s team has lost consecutive games only two times. The Hurricanes lost both of their first games in 2026 and had a brief losing streak with back-to-back defeats in mid-January. It’s been nearly five months since Carolina last lost two games in a row, an incredible feat in a highly competitive league like the NHL.
With Marner red-hot, the Golden Knights look full of goals. But Carolina has also had some impressive scoring spurts in the Finals, and they appear to be a very resilient bunch. As such, it wouldn’t be surprising if the series were knotted up again after four games.
