Carlos Alcaraz of Spain eyes a place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Queen’s Club Championship against compatriot Jaume Munar Clar on Wednesday.
Alcaraz was triumphant in his first grass-court match of the year, topping Australian lucky loser Adam Walton 6-4 7-6(4). Just a little over a week removed from his French Open conquest, Alcaraz brought only his “B game” to the match but did just enough to stave off Walton’s challenge. Alcaraz landed 68 percent of his first serves, winning 36 points off the first serves without yielding a service break.
Munar got a quick pass to the second round after his opponent, Jordan Thompson, retired after the Spaniard took the opening set 7-5. Munar, who claimed his fourth grass-court win of his career, outgunned the Australian by claiming 18 points off his first serves and converting one service break.
