Carlos Alcaraz of Spain aims to push his Wimbledon Open winning streak to nine games as he goes up against Alexander Vukic of Australia in the second round of men’s singles battles at All-England Club in London, England. Alcaraz, the defending Wimbledon Open men’s singles champion, demolished Mark Lajal of Estonia 7-6(3) 7-5 6-2 to claim his eight straight wins at All-England Club. The Spaniard fired 40 winners and scored 107 points to overcome a strong challenge from Lajal in the first two sets. Meanwhile, Vukic outgunned Sabastian Ofner of Austria 6-7(9) 6-4 6-4 3-6 7-6(8) in easily the best first-round match of this year’s tournament. Vukic, who reached the second round of the Wimbledon Open for a second straight year, recorded 16 aces and 39 winners while saving 16-of-22 breakpoints (72 percent) in the grueling match that lasted three hours and 49 minutes.

Our Carlos Alcaraz vs Aleksandar Vukic Prediction
Alcaraz is a -4000 favorite entering his second-round clash with Vukic despite the fact that the Australian is one of only a few players who boast a head-to-head series lead over the Spaniard. Vukic defeated a young Alcaraz 4-6 7-6(5) 6-3 in the qualifier of the 2020 French Open. Fast forward to the present, and Vukic will be facing a much better version of Alcaraz, who won three Grand Slam titles over the last three years. Will Alcaraz score another straight-set win? I don’t think so since Vukic has a decent 17-14 record on grass and is equipped with a booming serve that allowed him to score 16 aces in the first match against Ofner. Still, I am confident Alcaraz will find a way to shake off this seasoned Australia and advance to the third round.
