Valentin Vacherot will gun for a second straight ATP quarterfinals appearance on Thursday against the man who knocked over world’s No.1 Carlos Alcaraz earlier this week.

Vacherot has officially earned the respect of bookmakers, as he opened the betting line as the favorite at -137 for his third-round showdown with Cameron Norrie.

Vacherot punched his ticket to the third round with another gutsy come-from-behind win in his rematch with his cousin and Shanghai Masters finalist Arthur Rindeknech 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. Vacherot amped up his intensity after losing the first set via tiebreaker, winning 13 of 15 service games and breaking Rinderknech five times on 51 return points. With the victory, Vacherot improved his 2025 record to 44-23, including a 2-1 record in indoor matches.

Norrie salvaged the biggest win of his career by upsetting world’s No.1 Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of the 2025 Paris Masters 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. After losing a hotly contested first set, Norrie raised the level of play in the final two sets as he finished with 41 points behind the first ball to hold 13 of 14 service games. He also broke Alcaraz twice, including a pivotal breakpoint conversion in the 7th game to take a 4-3 lead and the serve in the third set.
