Therefore, with a team missing Curry and Butler, the Warriors' victory on Monday at the American Airlines Center against the Mavericks was doubly valuable. They defeated the Mavericks 137-131 in overtime, improving their record to 34-38.
Brandi Podziemski has been in the spotlight, carrying some of the offensive responsibilities for this depleted Warriors team, but he responded admirably on Monday with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Of course, there wasn't much celebration after the victory. In the final moments of overtime, Moses Moody stole the ball and was about to dunk. But on his jump, Moody made an unnatural movement with his knee. Finally, he was stretchered off the field while his coach, Steve Kerr, could only hold his head in disbelief.
Every win counts for the Warriors, which is why Wednesday's game against the Nets feels so good. The Nets are a weak team in the East with only 17 wins, and the Warriors already beat them 120-107 in Brooklyn at the end of 2025.
