Two teams searching for a road back to the postseason, the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks will kick things off on Tuesday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The Nets will try to be relevant again two years after breaking their star-studded core of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. Brooklyn is banking on youth development and a turnaround season from former All-Star guard Ben Simmons, whose career has been derailed by injuries and underwhelming outputs in the last two seasons. Meanwhile, the Hawks are betting big on Trae Young after trading his two-season backcourt running partner, Dejounte Murray, to the New Orleans Pelicans this offseason. With Young being the focal center of the attack once more, Atlanta hopes the other players around him step up and provide the support their All-Star guard requires to propel the Hawks back to the playoffs.
