In March, April, and May, Brentford only won one match; they have struggled in crucial moments, and this could cost them a coveted European spot for next season. All is not lost for the Bees, however, as they face Crystal Palace in a London derby on Sunday, against whom they already lost 2-0 at Selhurst Park earlier this season.
For Crystal Palace, it will be another season in which they finish mid-table in the Premier League, safe from relegation pressure but far from the top eight. It is by winning the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano that Oliver Glasner's men have a chance to qualify for next season's Europa League.
The Eagles have been underwhelming in the Premier League, especially away from home; they were recently defeated by Liverpool, Bournemouth, and Manchester City in their last three matches, conceding three goals against each of them. At least Crystal Palace has a good recent record in their last London derbies, but Brentford won one, their only victory in May, 3-0 over West Ham with goals from Thiago and Damsgaard.
