Brandon Nakashima of the United States opens his campaign at the 2025 Mubadala Citi Open against compatriot Ethan Quinn in Tuesday’s second-round clash in Washington D.C.
Nakashima will be playing his first match after an inspiring grass-court court campaign highlighted by a third-round stint at the 2025 Wimbledon Open. Nakashima returns to the hard court where he sports a 10-7 record this year. The American has yet to win title this year but he was able to take his campaigns deep into several marquee hard court tournaments such as the Acapulco Open (semis), Indian Wells Open (round-of-16) and the Miami Open (round-of-16).
Quinn advanced to the second round of the Citi Open after besting Christopher O’Connell in straight sets, 6-3 6-2. The American got the better of the exchanges by holding 100 percent of his serves and capturing three breakpoints. He also scored six aces and won 22 return points. Quinn improved his hard-court record to 17-7 and 35-19 overall in 2025.
