The Boston Red Sox will close out a weekend road trip to Cleveland today with the final game of their weekend series vs. the Indians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 1:40 p.m. EST.
With Friday’s game getting postponed, the Red Sox and Indians played a doubleheader Saturday. Cleveland won the first game 5-4. Boston got on top early with three runs in the top of the first, but the lead did not last with the Indians scoring four in the bottom of the inning. The Red Sox tied the game up with a run in the third, but then the Indians scored the go-ahead run in the sixth. In the second game, the Boston lineup built an early lead with six runs off Cleveland starter Doug Nikhazy within the first three innings. They went on to win 7-3.
Boston will give the ball to Brayan Bello to start the day. Bello got the win in his only other start, vs. Seattle, on Tuesday (five innings, four hits, one earned run, three walks, and three strikeouts). Cleveland will go with Logan Allen on the mound. The young lefty is 1-1 on the season in four starts with a 2.11 ERA.

I’m guessing the public is all over the OVER (7.5 runs) since both games yesterday went over. But both starting pitchers are looking good; Bello gave up one run in his only start, and Allen has given up one across his last three starts. My only concern about taking the UNDER is that Boston’s pen has a 4.12 ERA relative to a 3.12 ERA for Cleveland. But the Indians are only hitting .236 over the last week (Boston-- .239 BA).
