The Boston Celtics will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in a much-anticipated marquee matchup between two historic teams at the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League on Thursday.
The Celtics are coming off their first defeat in the competition, falling to the Miami Heat 96-100. Boston shot 42 percent from the field but the Heat did better by making half of their goal attempts (50 percent). Baylor Scheierman paced his team with 19 points, while former Real Madrid playmaker Hugo Gonzales tallied 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in the loss.
The Lakers are 1-2 after three games in the Summer League, having lost recently to the LA Clippers 58-67. Bronny James showed up as he led the purple and gold with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Cole Swider continued his excellent form, posting 16 points and 5 boards.
