The Philadelphia Flyers will look to start a winning streak on Saturday against the Boston Bruins at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Philadelphia has been inconsistent all season, but Rick Tocchet’s side returned from the Olympic break with a winning effort. On Thursday night, Matvei Michkov became the Flyers’ hero with two goals in a 3-2 overtime win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The Flyers haven’t won back-to-back games since early January, when they defeated the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks 5-2. Beating Boston won’t be easy either for Tocchet’s men, with the Bruins looking almost unbeatable.
Boston has a 12-2-3 record in 2026. The team faced a red-hot Columbus squad on Thursday and still won with relative ease, ending the Blue Jackets’ seven-game winning streak with a 4-2 score. There are five teams chasing three automatic playoff spots in the Atlantic Division, making every win and point crucial for the Bruins.
The Bruins’ success in the new year includes a 6-3 home victory over the Flyers on Jan. 29. Philadelphia kept David Pastrnak off the score sheet but still struggled to hang with Boston, which scored the first three goals of the contest.
