The Round of 16 kicks off this Monday as we get closer to finding out the quarterfinalists at this year’s Wimbledon. But first, the British crowd will witness a compelling showdown between top-10 American Ben Shelton and Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego.

Shelton hadn’t really found his form on grass heading into this Grand Slam. While he did reach the semifinals in Stuttgart with wins over Pierre-Hugues Herbert and world No. 25 Jiri Lehecka, he was knocked out in the first round at both Queen’s and Mallorca. However, the Wimbledon grass seems to suit him well, he hasn’t dropped a single set through his first three rounds, beating Alex Bolt, Rinky Hijikata, and Marton Fucsovics.

Sonego, on the other hand, had not won back-to-back matches on grass this season before arriving in London. He exited in the second round in both Halle and Eastbourne. But his grass-court campaign really got underway in the British capital. He cruised through his first-round match in straight sets against Jaime Faria, dropped a set to Nikoloz Basilashvili in the second round, and then fought a five-set battle in the third round against world No. 34 Brandon Nakashima to earn his spot in the Round of 16.
