Iga Swiatek of Poland will contest with Belinda Bencic of Switzerland for a spot in the women’s singles final of the 2025 Wimbledon Open at the All-England Club on Thursday.
This year, Swiatek reached her third Grand Slam semis after topping Liudmila Samsonova of Russia 6-2 7-5 on Wednesday. Bencic made it to her first semi-final appearance at the All-England Club and second overall after upending Russian teen sensation Mirra Andreeva 7-6(3) 7-6 in their thrilling quarterfinal duel on Wednesday. Bencic, who last played in the semifinal of a Grand Slam event almost six years ago at the 2019 US Open, turned back the hands of time as she displayed terrific ball-striking and grace under pressure to survive Andreeva in the two nail-biting tiebreakers.
