One of the four matches at the Wuhan Open that I'm interested in from a betting point of view on Wednesday is the one between Belinda Bencic and Elise Mertens. Following that straight-set win over Donna Vekic, Bencic looks to have a good chance of getting the better of the inconsistent Mertens, who will definitely need to shift through the gears after her win last time out. Facing Bencic demands much more, and given what we've seen from the Belgian in recent weeks, I'm not sure she has enough in the tank to cope with a player who is deservedly back in the top 15.
Bencic's only recent loss came against Coco Gauff, and even then, the Olympic Gold winner didn't go down without a fight, taking a set from the world number three. Such form points towards her being too strong here.
