The first Der Klassiker of the season takes place on Saturday evening, as league leaders Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.
Saturday's fixture will be the 138th encounter between the two German giants, with Bayern holding a healthy 67-33 lead in the head to head.
Last season's matches between Bayern and Dortmund both ended all square. An 87th minute strike from midfielder Jamal Musiala snatched a draw for Bayern at Signal Iduna Park last November, before Waldemar Anton returned the favor with a late goal of his own to secure a 2-2 draw for Dortmund in the return game.
Both sides are unbeaten so far this season, but Bayern hold a healthy four point lead over their rivals, thanks to a 100% start to the campaign that has seen them rack up an astonishing 25 goals in their opening six fixtures.

Bayern Munich - Borussia Dortmund: Form Analysis
Bayern have been in scintillating form over the last two months. Their 3-0 win at Frankfurt last time out was their tenth in a row in all competitions and means they have already scored a remarkable 38 goals this season. England striker Harry Kane has been leading the way, with his strike at Frankfurt taking his tally to a remarkable 11 goals in six Bundesliga matches. With the likes of Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and Luis Diaz also in superb form, Bayern look well-equipped to retain their domestic title and mount a serious bid for Champions League glory.
Solid start for Dortmund
Whilst Dortmund have not quite hit the same heights as Bayern, Niko Kovač's side have amade a very impressive start to the campaign. The hard fought 1-1 draw with Leipzig in their last game maintained Dortmund's unbeaten record, but unless they can record a famous win in Munich on Saturday, it is hard to see them being able to keep pace with Bayern in the title race.

Young attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala remains a long term absentee for Bayern with a broken fibula, whilst full backs Josip Stanisic and Alphonso Davies also remain on the sidelines. In their absence, Sacha Boey and Konrad Laimer are expected to continue in defence, with Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz providing the main support to Harry Kane up front.
Injury boost for Dortmund
The big news coming out of the Dortmund camp this week is that star striker Serhou Guirassy has been passed fit following concerns over a minor thigh problem. The Guinean forward is expected to lead the line for Dortmund on Saturday, with Maximilian Beier and Karim Adeyemi providing the chief support. Midfielder Emre Can is the only long term injury absence for Dortmund. The German international has been out since July with persistent abdominal pain, and there is no set timeline for his return to first-team action.
