The Orioles has dropped their last two games after racking up five consecutive victories. Averaging 8.1 runs over their last five games, Baltimore’s waxing hot offense was nowhere to be found as they went scoreless in their series-opener against the Cubs.
The Cubs have picked up two wins in a row to improve their record to 64-45, a half-game behind NL Central leaders, the 64-44 Milwaukee Brewers. Chicago banked on their pitching to hold off the Brewers 10-3 in the series finale and blank the Orioles. The Cubs are pitching a 4.60 ERA in their last five games while averaging 4.4 runs a game in the stretch.
