The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League runners up will be back in action on Wednesday night. On this occasion, the Inter boys will travel to the Spanish capital, where they'll take on Atletico Madrid. Four games in and the men who reached the final last season have once again showed that they are not to be taken lightly on the continent. Wednesday's visitors have won four out of four in this competition so far, leaving them in a lofty third position. If they can secure a positive result here, it will be very hard to see them finishing outside of the all-important top eight.
As for Atletico, well, the League Phase table doesn't look so great for Diego Simeone's men, though all is not lost. The hosts have won two of their four League Phase games, but they've also tasted defeat twice, leaving them in 17th place. Not bad, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Will they find that improvement in front of a home crowd at Metropolitano Stadium?

As far as recent form goes, the hosts have nothing to be ashamed of. They warmed up for this task by beating Getafe in sturdy fashion at the weekend, grinding out a single-goal win and a clean sheet on the road. Prior to that, they beat Levante by three goals to zero on home soil. Simeone's men have also won each of their last five games in all competitions, so they're definitely a team in strong form.
The visitors had also been in hot form, winning four games on the spim. League wins against Fiorentina and Verona were followed by a UCL victory over Kairat Almaty, which paved the way for a solid 2-0 win over Lazio just before the international break. Unfortunately, the break seemingly came at the wrong time, with Cristian Chivu's men failing to pick off where they left off, losing by a goal to zero in the Milan Derby at the weekend. They now need to bounce back.
