Atlanta United and Columbus Crew both seem like teams built for more, but their slow starts have raised more questions than answers. They will at least play each other at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where one of them will get points.

Columbus has appointed Henrik Rydström as their new coach for a season that signifies a significant shift for the franchise, as it marks the first time in a long time that the team has played without Darlington Nagbe, the MLS legend who retired. Rydström was successful with Malmö in Sweden, but with his new MLS team, he hasn't been able to synchronize good attacking and defensive play, consistently failing in one of the two areas, and he's yet to win, despite Columbus having a relatively easy start to the season.

The Five Stripes are going through something similar. Atlanta brought back Martino, the coach who led them to the title in 2018, but so far they've only managed to beat the Philadelphia Union thanks to some of Almirón's brilliant performances. It doesn't seem wise to rely too heavily on the veteran Paraguayan, who will also arrive tired for this match after representing his country in a friendly on another continent.
