To kick off December, in a standout performance from Bagley and McCollum, the Wizards secured only their third win of the year, defeating Antetokounmpo's Bucks in a surprising upset. But far from propelling them to more victories, the Wizards then lost their next game 102-121 against the Sixers, and on Thursday, the Celtics handed Washington its worst loss of the year, crushing them 101-146.
Not only was it the Wizards' worst loss of the season, allowing 30 or more points in each quarter, but it was also the fifth-worst loss in franchise history. McCollum scored 22 points in that defeat.
On Saturday, back at Capital One Arena, the Wizards prepare to host the Hawks. Washington earned one of its three wins this season against Atlanta, defeating them 132-113, in a splendid 46-point performance by McCollum.
