=14.0ptThe 6-3 Atlanta Falcons hit the road to take on the 2-7 New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon. Atlanta has won 5 of their last 6 games, including back-to-back wins over Tampa Bay and Dallas. In their latest victory over Dallas, the Falcons were outgained but were efficient enough to lead 27-13 with just 11 minutes to play. Most of the Dallas yardage came as they were scrambling to get back into the game. Kirk Cousins completed nearly 80% of his passes for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Atlanta defense held the Cowboys to 3/13 on 3rd down and just 1/5 on 4th down.  While things have been going great for the Falcons lately, the same can not be said for these New Orleans Saints. After beginning the season 2-0, the Saints have lost 7 straight games. Earlier this week, they let go of their head coach Dennis Allen and star receiver Chris Olave has been in the concussion protocol all week after one of the nastiest hits of the season. Their latest loss, 23-22 to the then 1-7 Carolina Panthers, seems like rock bottom for the team right now. With a new interim head coach and no Olave, it will be interesting to see how the team’s identity shifts, if at all.
