The final bout of the prelim card for UFC 328 will feature one of the most electrifying middleweights in the division. Ateba Gautier (10-1-0) has been on a tear and will look to make Ozzy Diaz (10-3-0) his next victim.
Gautier is a strong striker out of Cameroon who has the ability to switch stances and make things uncomfortable for his opponents at all times. After finishing Yura Naito in Dana White’s Contender Series, Gautier rattled off 4 straight wins by KO/TKO in the 1st round. He did end up going the distance to pick up a unanimous decision victory in his last fight against Andrey Pulyaev, but that should only fuel him here to get back on his finishing ways.
Ozzy Diaz has had a decent MMA career. However, his fights against UFC opponents have not been great. He was finished by both Joe Pyfer and Zhang Mingyang, but did get the unanimous decision victory over Djorden Santos in his last fight. But this is a completely different level of competition that he will face in Gautier.
Diaz is going to need to have the greatest fight of his life and make zero mistakes against Gautier to have any chance of making it past the 1st round.

This money line is well over -1000 for Gautier. There is no value there and even to just take him to win by KO/TKO is pretty inflated. With the success that he has had in finishing his opponents in the 1st round combined with Diaz’s track record of having trouble against high level opponents in the 1st round, we like taking Gautier to get the finish early. While he did go the distance in his last fight, we believe that will be incentive for him to go harder here in the 1st and try to earn a bonus with an early knockout.
