The penultimate round of the EPL commences this Friday with Aston Villa and Liverpool battling it out at Villa Park. Although both currently obtain a top-five ranking, being tied on points, their UCL footing isn’t yet secured, so the need for points is still very much alive. Taking a few factors into account, the early market shouldn’t be favoring a high-scoring meeting as highly as it is.
For starters, Villa have their momentous Europa League final in Turkey just five days after this game, which they will be prioritising. They will not want to risk any injuries, and may lean towards a sitting-back approach. Mostly, their recent home games in the EPL haven’t been giving away tons of shots or many real chances.
With this in mind, Liverpool are missing their two best creative players, Salah and Ekitike, as well as Wirtz also being questionable. Potentially missing all three players will be a big blow for the visitors, as their other players haven’t been as consistent or dangerous in the final third.

Our Aston Villa vs Liverpool Prediction
In their latest fixtures, in which their top creative players have been absent, Liverpool haven’t been producing as much top quality in front of goal. The Reds haven’t created a high xG at all in their last four games in the league, and last time out, facing an out-of-form Chelsea side on home soil, they only managed to score one goal.
Whilst their most recent away game against Man United consisted of five goals, the Mancunians do not have any other commitments, whilst they also have much higher scoring home matches. The Villans will be juggling their desire for points and their upcoming UEL final, which may result in a less intense meeting.
Our Aston Villa vs Liverpool Pick: Under 3.0 Goals.
