It will be the battle of the giant killers as Valentin Vacherot of Poland takes on Arthur Rinderknech for the 2025 Shanghai Masters title on Sunday.
Rinderknech opened as the favorite at -175, but Vacherot has emerged as a hot pick at +140 after pulling off the biggest upset of his career on Saturday.
Current Form:
Rinderknech clinched his first ATP 1000 finals appearance after downing Daniil Medvedev 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. The Frenchman won 52 points behind the first ball and 17 more behind the second ball to hold 13 of 14 service games. He also scored 27 return points, breaking Medvedev three times. Ranked 54th in the world, Rinderknech has gone 6-0 in his last six matches, beating the likes of Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Alex Michelsen, Jiri Lehecka and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Vacherot is also through to his first ATP 1000 finals following a shocking 6-3, 6-4 win over Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. After taking down Alexander Bublik, Tomas Machac, Tallon Griekspoor, and Holger Rune in the previous round, Vacherot took his game to another level in his showdown with the 24-time Grand Slam winner. Vacherot conceded only one service game against Djokovic after capturing 28 points off the first serves, on top of six aces. The Pole also broke Djokovic three times and demonstrated incredible poise down the stretch.

Our Arthur Rinderknech vs Valentin Vacherot Prediction
Arthur Rinderknech has established himself as the favorite in this matchup because of his higher placement on the world rankings and a 1-0 head-to-head advantage over Valentin Vacherot. However, the Pole is also on a tear in Shanghai. Ranked 204th in the world, Vacherot stunned the world with his giant-killing act, topping prominent names such as Griekspoor, Bublik, and Rune. But the biggest achievement of his career was no other than his shocking win over Novak Djokovic, who many had thought was a lock to win the Shanghai Masters title following the early exits of Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev.
Fearless Forecast: I would not blame you if you are picking Rinderknech in this match. The Frenchman deserves all the credit for reaching this far. However, call it destiny as you may but Vacherot seems to be meant to win the Shanghai Masters title from the very start. A relatively unknown before this tournament, Vacherot defied all odds to achieve things he had never thought he was capable of.
