Alexander Zverev of Germany will face Arthur Rinderknech in the first round of the gentlemen’s singles tournament at the 2025 Wimbledon Open on Monday.
Zverev has put up solid runs in the two grass-court tournaments he competed this past two weeks: Stuttgart and Halle. The German reached the final at Stuttgart, losing to Taylor Fritz for the fifth consecutive time 6-3 7-6(0). He picked up three more grass-court wins in Halle before bowing to Daniil Medvedev in a highly-competitve semifinal 7-6(3) 6-7(1) 6-4. Zverev finished his pre-Wimbledon campaign with a 6-2 record on grass.
Rinderknech has had encouraging buildup for the Wimbledon Open as he collected 5 wins out of 9 matches this grass-court season and reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 Queen’s Club Tournament. Rinderknech earned signature wins over former top-10 Denis Shapovalov 6-4 2-6 6-0, top-10 Ben Shelton 7-6(5) 7-6(4), and the big-serving Reilly Opelka 7-5 7-6(3), and then made Alcaraz work hard for a 7-5 6-4 win in an entertaining quarterfinal duel at Queens.

Our Arthur Rinderknech vs Alexander Zverev Prediction
Why should you pick Arthur Rinderknech to cover -5.5 games (Win $100 on a $125 Bet) – Rinderknech has played so well during his Wimbledon buildup that I feel he can give Zverev a run for his money in their first-round clash. Rinderknech must have a good day behind the service line to match up well with Zverev. So far this grass court season, Rinderknech has connected 63 percent of his first serves and won 80 percent of these balls (343/431) in 9 games. The Frenchman is also 5 for 6 in tiebreak situations and 5 for 5 whenever he takes the first set. This is an intriguing matchup for Zverev, who has a history of losing early in Wimbledon, particularly his 2019 loss to Jiri Vesely 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5.
Our betting prediction for Alexander Zverev vs. Arthur Rinderknech: Arthur Rinderknech to cover +5.5 Games
