Listed as a +108 underdog on FanDuel, Jan-Lennard Struff will contest for a main draw spot at the 2025 US Open Championships against Frenchman Arthur Casaux on Friday.
Struff moved on to the qualification final after storming back from a set down to beat Taro Daniel of Japan 2-6 6-4 6-1. Struff pulled off the comeback win by playing with more aggression starting in the second set. He also took care of most of the errors that plagued him during a sloppy first set. With the victory, Struff is one win away from clinching another main draw slot at the 2025 US Open, where he reached the third round twice.
Casaux also got a shot at a main draw qualification after blasting Jay Clarke of Great Britain 6-3 6-4. Casaux, who also dispatched Mark Lajal in the first qualification match 6-4, 6-1, hacked out the straight-set victory by coming through with key points in the most crucial junctures of their match. The victory improved Casaux’s 2025 hard-court record to 8-9.
