Danielle Collins of the United States will take on the resurging Anna Kalinskaya of Russia in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Strasbourg International.
The Danimal is on fire at Strasbourg as he advanced to the quarterfinal round behind another gutsy three-set win over former US Open champion Emma Raducanu 4-6 6-1 6-3 in the second round. Collins, who had carved out a three-set win over Sofia Kenin 6-1 1-6 6-2 roughly 24 hours earlier, raised her game to another level in the second and third sets to complete a come-from-behind victory. Collins landed 10 aces and 40 points off her first serves, on top of 5 breakpoints, to outlast Raducanu in an action-packed showdown on Wednesday.
Kalinskaya will enter Thursday’s quarterfinal aiming to eliminate a third American opponent from the competition. The Russian toppled Caroline Dolehide 6-2 4-6 6-3 and world’s No.4 Jessica Pegula 4-6 6-4 6-2 to reach her first quarterfinal since the Singapore Open earlier this year. Ranked No.30 in the world, Kalinskaya improved her 2025 WTA season record to 9-10 and 5-3 on clay.
