Jessica Pegula of the United States will face compatriot Ann Li in the second round of the 2025 French Open.
Pegula breezes through to the second round at Roland Garros with a clinical 6-2 6-4 win over Anca Alexia Todoni of Romania in her opening match. The win ended the two-match losing slump for Pegula. The No. 3 seed has had a rollercoaster clay-court season, winning the Charleston Open in early April before underperforming in the subsequent clay-court tournaments.
Ann Li hurdled her first test at the French Open, beating Maria Lourdes Carle 6-4 6-0 in the first round. Li has now won 3 of his last 4 matches, giving her a bit of steam ahead of her second career duel with Pegula.
