Andrey Rublev of Russia aims for his second semifinal stint against Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in Friday's quarterfinal of the 2025 Rotterdam Open. Rublev punched his ticket to the round of 8 with a gutsy 7-6(2) 7-6(7) win over Fabian Marozsan of Hungary on Thursday. Apart from his 10 aces and 34 first-serve points, the world’s No.10 displayed nerves of steel to capture the swing points of the match, especially in the tiebreaker. On the other hand, Hurkacz was gifted with his fifth win of the season after Jiri Lehecka retired mid-match. Hurkacz was leading 7-5 2-0 when the Czech approached the umpire to inform him of his retirement decision. The Pole improved his record to 5-4 this season. Together with Iga Swiatek, Hurkacz reached the final of the United Cup, where they lost to Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, and Team USA.
