Anastasia Zakharova vs Dayana Yastremska Prediction & Picks - WTA Wimbledon Championships

On Thursday, at the home of grass-court tennis, there are plenty of second-round matches containing WTA players, including one that sees Anastasia Zakharova take on Dayana Yastremska, who comes into this match off the back of a huge first-round win against two-time Grand Slam winner Coco Gauff. That win against one of the very best in the business must be applauded, and off the back of such a big success, it's easy to assume that the Ukrainian player will kick on and go very far at this tournament. However, we probably shouldn't get too carried away. There's still lots of work for the world number 42 to do, and let's face it, she hasn't previously thrived at Wimbledon, never going beyond the fourth round, which is a stage that she hasn't reached since 2019. 

Young Russian Zakharova didn't pick up such an eye-catching first-round win, but she too beat a Grand Slam champion, getting the better of veteran Victoria Azarenka in three sets. She showed plenty of fight and detemination in that match, so we really should expect this to be something of a tough match for Yastremska.
