Former US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu will try to earn a spot on the main draw of the 2025 Wuhan Open against Anastasia Zakharova of Russia in the final qualification match on Sunday.
Andreescu is a -250 favorite despite playing three hard-court matches so far this year. Zakharova, 13-15 on the hard court this year, has established herself as a compelling underdog option at +185.

Andreescu claimed her second hard-court win in 2025 after topping Tereza Valentova 6-4. 6-2. The Canadian captured 21 first-serve points and converted 6 of 13 breakpoint chances.
Zakharova also advanced to the final qualifying match of the 2025 Wuhan Open by beating Alycia Parks 6-4, 6-0. It was a dominant performance from Zakharova, who collected 24 points off the first serves and seized six breakpoints against Parks. Zakharova improved to 13-15 on the hard court and 30-27 overall this season.

Back Anastasia Zakharova to score an upset over Bianca Andresscu. Listed as +185 underdog, Zakharova should have a slight edge in this final qualification match as she has been the more active player on the tour this year than Andreescu, who has been hampered by injuries and inconsistencies this year.
Although Andreescu has reached greater heights during her prime, it’s safe to say the Canadian is now a shell of her former self. Andreescu is 5-6 against the WTA top-100 this year, while Zakharova has a 6-11 record against these players.
