Club America takes on Austin FC in their Leagues Cup match with both sides looking to increase their leads at the top of Groups A and B respectively. Both won their opening matches of this season's Leagues Cup. Club America defeated Portland Timbers and San Diego, winning 3-1 in each, while Austin beat Puebla and Tijuana to establish top spot in the Group B standings.
Las Aguilas has enjoyed a fantastic start to their season. Alongside their two wins from two in the Leagues Cup, they've also won two and drawn one of their three Liga MX games. As for the Verde and Black, their season hasn't exactly gone to plan. Austin sits in 14th spot in the MLS Western Conference with only four wins from their 18 games so far. Their last two results, though, should give them confidence heading into this one.
The major problem with Austin is when they go a goal behind, they never look like getting back into the game. Their last four defeats have yielded zero goals for El Tree. If they go behind against Club America, it will be tough to get back into it.
