Swiatek, who had never exceeded the quarterfinals in her previous campaign at the All-England Club, has staged a dominant run to the championship match in which she only dropped a set in six games. After losing to Pegula in the final of the Bad Homburg Open, the former world’s No.1 took her level of play to another gear as she eliminated Polina Kudermetova 7-5 6-1, Cathy McNally 5-7 6-2 6-1, Danielle Rose Collins 6-2 6-3, Clara Tauson 6-4 6-1, Liudmila Samsonova 6-2 7-5 and Bencic.
